Description:Since purchasing my 90 from an alledged offroading instructor in Bath in May 2008, It has had: a 200tdi engine conversion (previous owner well aware the old 2.5 N/A was on its last legs....or rings should I say! but thats ebay for ya! :-). Cranked trailing arms, dislocation cones all round, ridiculously wired up neon lights, spot lights, extra main beam lights ripped out and re-wired correctly. Radio/cd player again bodged/wired in with sellotape removed permenantly. Other new bits include: an X-Brake, Superwinch Epi9.0 stripped and returned to orginal spec (i.e working) with new Dyneema winch rope and alloy fairlead, New wheel cylinders, Drums, shoes, pads, extended braided brake lines, extended bumpstops, front and rear shock droppers, two new pro-comp rear dampers as a direct result of said shock droppers and no rear bumpstops (Doh!) a set of Insa Turbo Special track tyres, strengthened track bars, extra diff guards, two replacement diffs (the 200tdi took care of those! lol). New mirrors, front steering guard removed due to large dent that couldn't be hammered out and restricting the front axle articulation (on the track rod droop) Finally the old Floppy propshafts have been replaced with new HD ones. Sounds like it was a bit of a nail really......which looks-wise it is a bit, but fair dues to the old girl, it still passed it's MOT with just a swivel pin adjustment, track rod bolt tightening up and getting one indicator light to work! not too bad considering. Plus the old engine never actually stopped working but I knew it was time for its retirement when it wouldnt run anymore in fifth at all and 38MPH was it's maximum speed! 200Tdi Discovery engine has been a relavation....just don't ask the costs involved so far, lets just say I could well have had a 300tdi Defender for the amount i've spent over the year! still love driving it though :-)
