Engine:2250 cc 4-cylinder Petrol
Location:Belford, Northumberland, England
Description:Imported from SouthAfrica in 1987 registration was "Q408 OBP" but now has an age related plate, manufactured in South Africa in 1971 from a Complete Knock Down Kit (CKD as the first 3 numbers of chassis are 913). Sorry no details of South African registration though all military ones started R then 5 numbers from 1963 to1980
It came into the U.K. as a hard top and I do not know when it changed to a soft top, it has the back body off a 110 believed to have been fitted before it left South Africa
Twin fuel tanks underslung beneath the front seat and filled from there respective front wing tops,
A one piece front bench seat
A fresh water tank positioned behind the front passenger seat built into the box section and in front of the rear wheel arch, I believe it had an electric pump in the past.
The current petrol engine came out of a 1974/5 SWB CKD before 1986 when the vehicle left South Africa
I now know the names of all the keepers in the UK but have no history of its time in South Africa, also all the MOT certificates since 1998.
The land rover was white when imported then painted blue in 1994 and green at a later date, the DVLA had not been informed of this change untill I bought it
