This was my second vintage Land Rover.

My first was a 1969 Series IIA SBD 786 G, and you'll find my part of the life history of that car at Posting #1 on the current owner's page.

I bought my second Land Rover, a Series III Safari DGH 281 X in September 2008 and we had a lot of fun with it, but a year later my sons were back from university which meant six cars on the drive... We can cope with five cars - just - but six really is one too many, so it had to go. I sold it in August 2009 to somebody who I am sure will maintain it it its original condition and be able to improve it by doing many of the jobs that were beyond us.

Fortunately one of the remaining five cars is a new purchase by my son, a 1979 (V-reg) MG Midget, so there's still going to be a classic for us to love.
