Description:The vehicle was converted to County station wagon spec. and resprayed in a burgundy colour (not a standard Land Rover colour) prior to coming into my possession in 1999. It appears that it may originally have been a standard green hard top.
The original turbo-diesel engine had given up long ago, and the vehicle had a "reconditioned" engine when I acquired it. That one lasted about a year before expiring with a cracked block. Land Rover should be ashamed of themselves for designing such an unreliable engine! Since fitting a replacement engine the gearbox died a gory death as well, and was replaced with a second hand unit.
Its third engine is a second-hand 200Tdi rescued from a 1990 vehicle, and is a credit to the engine designers at Solihull - this engine has proved far better in all respects than its predecessor.
The vehicle is fitted with Technic Tracker 750-16 tyres on Rostyle rims, and performs admirably both on and off-road.
