Bought in 1998 as a second vehicle for my wife to use for various duties, inc.shopping, taking the dog out and for carrying my chainsaw etc.
Later found out it was a project vehicle for Land Rover Owner International Magazine between 1994 & 1996 then it was given as a prize in a competion.
Had troubles with the MOT emission (it had been nicknamed "Old Smokey" by the magazine staff and rightly so!) to end a long story a new head and a complete engine rebuild was required. Not long after a new H/D galvanised chassis was installed (got fed up of sparks from the welder going down my neck).
Latterly heaps of new stuff added, mechanically great, just needs a respray to make it tip-top.
But wife now getting on (hopes she never sees this) and is struggling with non power steering.
Old Smokey now requires new loving home?
